Pace Academy is an independent K-6 school that blends state-of-the-art software, quest-like projects with real-world application, Socratic discussions, apprenticeships, and the Hero’s Journey in student-led, multi-age studios.​

Position Description 

  • Foster a positive and engaging (mostly play-based) learning environment for children ages 5-7.

  • Implement the Acton approach (strongly inspired by Montessori) to encourage independence, curiosity, and self-directed learning.

  • "Run the playbook" by following the provided Learning Design resources for facilitating group activities, discussions, core skills, and projects

  • Observe and assess the progress of students, facilitating constructive feedback and personalized guidance.

  • Cultivate a strong sense of community and collaboration, fostering a culture of respect and empathy.

  • Collaborate with other guides and owners to enhance the overall learning experience.

  • Help the learners maintain a safe and clean studio environment conducive to exploration and creativity.

Qualifications

  • At least five years of proven experience working with children aged 5-7, preferably in a Montessori or learner-driven setting.

  • Passion for revolutionizing education and a deep understanding of child development principles.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to connect with children, parents, and colleagues effectively.

  • Patience, empathy, and a nurturing attitude toward guiding young learners.

  • Flexibility to adapt to individual learner needs and learning styles.

  • A commitment to Pace Academy's mission and values

  • Ability to pass a background check.

Schedule

Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 12:00 PM or 7:30 AM to 4 PM. We follow a four to seven-week academic schedule followed by a week break from early September through the end of May. Guides will also have the opportunity to join us for our full-time summer programs from June - August.

Compensation

$20 - $30/Hour
